There was a lot happening around this moment.

It wasn’t a quiet, controlled shoot where everything flowed from one pose to the next.

We were in a studio I hadn’t used before — light, airy, bright.

Very different to how I usually shoot.

There were other photographers there.

Other models.

A bit of movement, a bit of noise.

The kind of environment where it’s easy to feel a little “on.”

We’d already had a coffee before heading in.

A bit of a chat.

Nothing heavy — just enough to ease into it.

And once we started, it was the same.

A little chatty. A little relaxed.

This moment wasn’t planned.

She had stepped away briefly while another photographer was shooting.

Just taking a second to adjust her lingerie, reset, gather herself.

And then she paused.

Not posing.

Not performing.

Just… in herself.

That’s when I took this.

It’s one of those moments that doesn’t look like much from the outside.

But if you’ve ever been in front of a camera, you’d recognise it.

It’s the point where you stop thinking so much about what you “should” be doing…

and just exist in the space for a second.

Those are the moments I’m always watching for.

Not the perfectly posed ones.

The in-between ones.

The ones where something softens, even just a little.

What I love about this image is that it wasn’t created in ideal conditions.

The light wasn’t mine.

The space wasn’t mine.

The setup wasn’t mine.

But the moment still was.

And that’s really what I’m there for.

Not perfection.

Just those small, quiet shifts.
